Nasarawa: NAGIS Generates N912m Revenue in 11 Months, Says D-G
Nasarawa Geographic Information Service (NAGIS), says it generated and remitted more than N912.3 million into the state government’s coffer between January and November.
Mr Sonny Agassi, Director-General of NAGIS, disclosed this when he led the management of the agency on its 2023 budget performance before the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Lands and Survey on Monday in Lafia.
Agassi said that the amount was generated from the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy (C of O), Right of Occupancy (R of O), as well as rents and revenue from government properties among others.
He said that the agency’s approved budget for 2023 was N974,500,000.
“From January to this moment, we have collected N912,274,117 as revenue into the state government’s coffer and by the grace of God, we shall exceed the N1 billion target at the end of 2023.
” We are working tirelessly to exceed the state government budget target for our agency and we will achieve it by God’s grace,” he said.
Agassi appreciated the committee, the State Assembly and Gov. Abdullahi Sule for giving special attention to NAGIS’s success.
The director general assured of the management’s determination to generate more revenue as well as take NAGIS to the next level of development.
In his remarks, Mr Emmanuel Manding, the Chairman of, the House Committee on Lands and Survey, said that the exercise was to assess NAGIS 2023 budget performance.
“It is our constitutional duty to oversight your activities. It is not to witch-hunt anybody.
” We are here to assess NAGIS 2023 budget performance and to see how we can assist you if you have grey areas,” he said.
Manding commended NAGIS for generating more revenue to the coffer of the state government.
Also appearing before the committee was the management of the Ministry of Lands and Urban Development, where the Permanent Secretary, Mr Khalid Adamu, appreciated the committee for supporting its activities.
The permanent secretary said that Gov. Sule’s administration was doing its best to ensure effective land administration in the state.
The Committee Chairman also appreciated Gov. Sule for the efforts to ensure land development in the state.
He urged the ministry to continue to work assiduously in order to live up to the expectations of the people.
Manding assured them of the committee’s support to succeed.
