Putin Wins With 87.3% Votes After 99.83% Ballots Counted

Russia’s incumbent President Vladimir Putin won with 87.3 per cent of the votes counted in the presidential elections after 99.83 per cent of ballots were counted.

This showed the latest data from the Russian Central Election Commission (CEC) on Monday.

Communist Party candidate Nikolai Kharitonov is in second place with 4.31 per cent.

Vladislav Davankov from Russia’s New People Party received 3.83 per cent of the votes, and Leonid Slutsky, head of the Liberal Democratic Party, has secured 3.21 per cent of the votes.

The Russian presidential elections were held for three days from March 15 to 17.

Under Russian presidential election regulations, a candidate who received more than 50 per cent of the votes would secure victory.
