Junior Volleyball Fiesta Debuts in Lagos – Organizers

Ekanem Yellowduke-Okoduwa the Proprietor of Abesan Junior Volleyball Academy, said that all is set for the maiden edition of the Junior Volleyball Fiesta on Dec. 30 in Lagos.

Okoduwa said in an interview in Lagos on Monday that the objective of the fiesta is to inspire youths at the grassroots.

She also said that the aim is to make the sport as popular as football and impact the community and the youths as a whole.

“This is a sport I am passionate about, I want to inspire a lot of them to use it as a tool to develop basic skills of survival and nurture them to stardom.

“I played for various clubs, from my teenage years to adulthood and developing my skills and talents brought the best out of me.

“I played for clubs like UNILAG VC (proudly alumni), Legacy Volleyball Club, Unity Volleyball Club, Hitsquad Volleyball Club and Total Volleyball Club to mention a few, “she said. Arts Forum Enlightens Students on Innovative Digital Tools

She said that the absence of competitions for junior volleyball players in Lagos inspired the initiative to organise one, especially for under-17 boys and girls.

Okoduwa said that the objective is to bring them together to exhibit their talents, inspire them, promote sportsmanship and promote volleyball at the grassroots level.

“It’s a thing of joy when you get to exhibit what you’ve learnt after months of training and I’m very convinced that budding talents would be discovered,” she said.
