Injury: Manchester United’s Anthony Martial to miss game against Brighton
Manchester United forward Anthony Martial is set to miss the opening match against Brighton & Hove Albion due to an injury.
Anthony Martial, 26, suffered a minor hamstring injury in their last match of the pre-season in Oslo against Athletico Madrid. He was substituted earlier in the match because of the injury.
The situation has left Manchester united manager Erik Ten Hag short of forward players to use in the match during the weekend against Brighton & Hove Albion.
With the Manchester united board not yet being able to provide reinforcement on the attacking options so far this summer, manager Ten Hag will now have to decide whether to bring Ronaldo back to the line-up despite him lacking match fitness.
Manchester united are interested in the RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko .
Ronaldo, who was Manchester united top scorer last season with 24 goals, missed the clubs entire pre-season tour due to family reasons, and wanting to quit playing for the club.
Erik Ten Hag who questioned the attitude of Ronaldo and his teammate for making an “unacceptable” early exit from Sundays friendly match against Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford, but may now have to be brought back to the lineup quicker giving martials injury.
