Bayern Munich Star Sadio Mane Set to miss the world Cup After Picking up an Injury
Bayern Munich star Sadio Mane, had his world cup hopes jeopardized after going of injured during their league clash against Werder Bremen.
In the first half of the Bundesliga match, the Senegal international limped off the pitch after being assessed by the medical staff, with a suspected leg injury.
Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann confirmed after the match, that the winger will have an X-ray to further the check the extent of the injury, with the world cup starting in less than two weeks time.
According to reports, “Nagelsmann said that Mane took a knock to the head of his tibia. It’s always uncomfortable, he has to have an X-ray. I hope nothing is wrong.”
“I didn’t see him after the game, I hope it’s not a big injury, but I don’t know at the moment”, the Bayern boss continued. “We will see tomorrow and then give an update”.
15 minutes into the Werder Bremen match the 30-year old went down, holding his right leg and signaling for the medical team to come into the pitch.
The injury could come as a massive blow for his national side, giving the fact that he was instrumental in their African Cup of Nations victory in February.
